There is always something of interest flowering in this delightful contemporary garden. Designed by Piet Oudolf, a leader in the new European Movement, the four acres are cleverly divided into nine contrasting areas. It is already known as a 21st century ‘plantsman’s paradise’.
Scampston Hall, open for a short period in the summer, is amongst the best examples of the English country house. The Hall, originally built in 1690, was remodelled between 1795 – 1800 and combines fine Regency architecture with a wealth of art treasures from earlier periods. It is a much loved family home.
The Garden Restaurant serves morning coffee, delicious home made light lunches and teas during the Walled Garden opening hours. Group bookings are welcome.
