Nestled on Barton Upon Humber’s waterfront and in the shadow of the spectacular Humber Bridge, you can find Waters’ Edge Country Park and Visitor Centre. With lots to do and see, it’s a great day out for all of the family, with free parking and free entry.
Come into the stunning visitor centre and discover the interactive displays that make learning about the environment fun. Themed around the wildlife of the estuary and the effects of climate change, the displays explore sustainability and how to be ‘green’.
Alongside the displays, the visitor centre runs an exciting calendar of events. From craft fairs to art shows, craft nactivities to Halloween fun, there is plenty to do. Enjoy a stroll around the park or just relax with a drink in the Honey Pot Café, while children play in our Kids Corner. Check out our events programme and join in the fun!
The centre itself is one of the ‘greenest’ buildings in the UK, producing some of its own electricity and even using rainwater to flush the toilets. The curved glass building mmakes use of the sun’s warming rays and refreshing breezes from across the wildlife ponds cool it on hot summer days. It’s hard to believe that this was one of the most contaminated industrial sites in Europe – a multi-million pound clean up has transformed the area into a haven for wildlife and a great place for a day out.
